To ensure that loan officers use the resources provided, the organization must also build a system of clear expectations, accountabilities, and balanced consequences that motivate and improve performance.

One-on-one coaching is the method most likely to give lenders the direction they need to reach and sustain top lending performance. Lenders need proactive coaching that builds on their strengths and develops productive, measurable action plans to improve both efficiency and credit quality.
Coaching for Credit Quality teaches managers to manage the lending process by applying proven coaching skills to the credit analysis process. The guide used in this process is Omega Performance’s Decision Strategy™, which is the key strategy used in our credit analysis process.
What Is Included
Using the Decision Strategy as a guide, the coach determines which steps of the decision-making process to focus on in a given coaching session. This decision is based on the needs of the loan officer and/or the department.
The loan officer’s responsibility is to select a completed loan package to use as the subject of the coaching session. Through a collaborative, structured coaching conversation, the loan officer identifies areas of strengths as well as areas for improvement in the loan decision process, and creates an action plan that sustains the strengths and supports improvements. The coach can expect to see evidence of performance improvement in the application of the Decision Strategy from one coaching session to the next.
Delivery Options
Coaching for Credit Quality is a one-day workshop. The course will utilize current loan packages and Omega Performance tools in this coaching process. Omega Performance recommends that coaching sessions occur monthly and that each lender receives at least 10 to 12 coaching sessions after completing the credit training program.
