Connie Hritz Quoted in SHRM’s 2009 HR Trendbook—Organizational Change Starts With Individual Employees

January 7, 2009

Connie Hritz, Omega Performance’s senior vice president of research and development, is quoted in the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) 2009 HR Trendbook in the article, "Organizational Change Starts With Individual Employees," which appears in the Training & Development section.

The article discusses why some change management practices are unsuccessful and how top leaders can make sure managers are prepared to guide employees to accept change and put new practices into action. The article is based on content Hritz delivered during a webcast she co-hosted with Nancy Moore, Omega Performance’s senior consultant, in August 2008.

According to Hritz, how organizations treat workers during a change initiative determines how successful the change—and the organization—will be. She says that "change starts with individuals; they have to commit to the change in order for the team to commit."

SHRM’s 2009 HR Trendbook is a special supplement to HR Magazine. It covers compensation, benefits, training & development, awards & incentives, technology, staffing management, relocation, and outsourcing & consulting.
